Fiction Friday Fictioneers Humour

Amos and Clark Make a Meal

“I’m gonna give it a go!” Clark proclaimed.

“I’ll tell the wife and kids you love them!” said Amos, smugly.

Clark rolled his eyes, “Out with it, then.”

“Remember Ralph? Last seen eating one of them things you’re on about.”

Clark sighed and tossed the rubbery object over his shoulder. He glanced across the yard and his face lit up. Amos caught sight of it too.

“I’ll distract the mutt,” said Clark.

“Beware the kid with the slingshot!”

Clark ran along the top rail of the fence and squealed. The dog gave chase, barking frantically. Amos scurried to the plate of fresh bird seed and stuffed his cheeks.

This has been an installment of the Friday Fictioneers Challenge. If you would like to give the challenge a try, start at Rochelle’s Purple Blog and join the fun.

Here’s the concept: A weekly picture is posted, and the writer is challenged to produce one-hundred (more or less) words of some sort of fiction with a complete plot (beginning, middle and end).

Have fun and happy writing!

  1. Nice twist – I did not expect squirrels! Fun take on the prompt. I’m glad they traded the mushrooms for birdseed.

  2. A fun read, though the last sigh was maybe one too many, especially for small animals. 🙂

  3. Ha! Lovely surprise ending. Thanks for the smile

  4. That was a fun read. Gotta love the squirrels because they are a little squirrely. 😀
